The new creative director of The Conran Shop has a long and respectful relationship with the city of Nottingham. Although based in London during the working week, Stephen Briars keeps his family home in the city where he spent twelve years working for fashion designer Paul Smith. From his early days growing up in Leicester, Nottingham – and Smith – always exerted a powerful influence on Briars.
