When interior designer Anna Burles and her graphic artist husband Chris Trotman bought this Victorian artisan worker’s cottage in west London, the tiny footprint of the ground floor was challenging to say the least. But a clever extension into the garden has changed all that. Anna’s carefully planned renovation has not only increased the sense of space, but also transformed the way that they and their young daughter, Margot, use the home. The living spaces have been decorated in soft ice cream tones, which form a backdrop to their intriguing possessions – predominantly vintage finds picked up from flea markets and antiques shops
