Undeterred by an uninspired renovation carried out by the previous owners, Dasha Slavinskaya has transformed this slim Victorian house in the heart of London’s Brompton district with the help of colour, pattern and a good dose of eccentricity. The Russian designer was inspired by the British approach to colour to use much brighter hues, as an antidote to the somewhat grey climate. She says, “As well as being a wonderful family home, I love the fact that the house inspires curiosity in others – there is always something to entertain the eye.”
