Samantha and Toby Treadwell work for Ralph Lauren, Samantha on the creative team and Toby as sales director. They have two children- Rex (7) and Bebe (5)

Two years ago they bought this late Victorian neo Gothic home in a small conservation area of other similar properties. The house is unique in that it was a somewhat short lived style of architecture, characterised by turrets and a wealth of decorative detail.

The previous owners had redeveloped Blacklion House in the early 2000’s, including the addition in the kitchen of a beautifully hand-made reproduction of the gothic splendour of the bar at the Black Lion pub in North London.

Samantha and Toby redeveloped a garage into a utility room and turned the utility room into a dressing room, refurnished all the wooden flooring and updated the décor that had been extremely dark and imposing.

Their style incorporates influences from Samantha’s upbringing with an antique dealer mum, touches of Mid Century Modern and an abundance of street art prints from their time living in East London.
