Three years ago, a teacher and a banker – Esther and Gerben – were looking for a new family home. It was time to part ways with their beloved Amsterdam and find a more spacious dwelling with a yard for their two little boys. They found what they were looking for in Abcoude – a historic village only a stone’s throw away from the capital. It had character, a large backyard and a perfect location: close to the village’s center, on a tree lined street.
